Rommai Villa

Having built and established a number of Bangkok’s top restaurants, the Chantakul family purchased an area of land on the outskirts of Chiang Rai to construct their ideal family country home in which to semi-retire. An extensive and beautifully restored family house was soon joined by other villas for family members – sons, daughters and their own families.

Successful business careers in Bangkok and other far-away cities, means that family members are infrequent visitors to this tranquil escape and as such their villas are available for guests to use  in their absence. Currently, 4 villas are available for guests to enjoy. Each has its own outside seating under a deck and verandah. A Common Area under the main family house serves as a dining area should guests wish to eat breakfast or dinner at the guest house. Free high speed WiFi persists throughout the compound along with ample parking space for guests to use. For those traveling without their own vehicles, a complimentary pickup service will whisk you the ten minutes from the Chiang Rai airport to Rommai Villa and Grab or taxis are plentiful to get you about.

Coconut Villa (Family Suite)

This is a 100 year old teak house on stilts that was transported to our compound originally for a family member but is now available for you and your family to rent. The family villa sleeps up to 3 adults and consists of a large bedroom with king bed and single bed and a lounge room with a sofa bed upon request for a 3rd adult or two small children.

This classically beautiful suite is surrounded by a large verandah with ample covered seating , an outside dining table and chairs and a small kitchen with microwave. Inside a modern spacious bathroom rounds out a beautiful way to spend a few days or longer in Northern Thailand.

Space: 45 sq.m. private suite with a cozy bedroom, separate living area, and spacious balcony.

Lemon Villa (Standard)

Lemon Villa is where heritage architecture meets laid-back modern comfort. Crafted from polished golden teak, it surrounds you with authentic Lanna charm while offering all the essentials for a relaxing stay.

Space: 25 sq.m. private room and bathroom. Features a king-sized bed and a terrace overlooking our tropical garden—perfect for sipping local coffee or doing yoga.

Capacity: 2 guests. Ideal for couples or solo travelers.

Relaxation: Cozy common space for reading or working.

Pineapple Villa (Superior)

Pineapple Villa is our hidden gem—thoughtfully designed as a quiet, luxurious hideaway for travelers seeking deep relaxation, mindfulness, and peace.

Space: 30 sq.m. of comfort with teakwood details and high-end bedding. The private terrace feels like a secret garden, perfect for listening to birds and escaping digital noise.

Capacity: 2 guests. Ideal for a rejuvenating solo retreat or a peaceful couples’ getaway.

Relaxation: A calm, distraction-free atmosphere that easily doubles as a serene workation or relaxation space.

Lemongrass Villa (Deluxe)

Lemongrass Villa is officially known as our guest favourite! Celebrated for its unbeatable views, airy feel, and beautiful natural light.

Space: A generous 35 sq.m. private layout with an extraordinary three-sided terrace. It fully immerses you in our lush gardens and overlooks the scenic pond, creating a true indoor-outdoor paradise.

Capacity: 2 guests, with the option to comfortably accommodate up to 3 (with an extra bed).

Relaxation: A cosy common space for work, reading, and yoga.

Amenities

All rooms come with a spacious modern tiled bathroom with rainfall showers, a hairdryer, soaps, shampoos and towels. Each room is equipped with a small refrigerator to keep food and evening drinks cool and an electric kettle with tea and coffee supplies for an afternoon cup of tea or morning coffee to start the day. Rooms are fitted with their own WiFi access points so you can remain connected to the outside world and most of the compound can receive a WiFi signal so you can sit on a swing and text or email. Great air conditioning removes the heat and humidity to allow you the perfect night’s sleep. Bicycles are available for you to explore the local countryside or to cycle to the local village for a massage or supplies.
